This is a course for students aged around 8 - 10 years old. It serves as an introduction to Google Earth/Google Maps and deals with the Geography of Place. Conditional activities are set so that once the students have watched the video and click the tick, all the activities will then appear. It was originally used in Our Lady's High School Preston by Mary Cooch.

This course was created by Mark Clarkson, ICT Advanced Skills teacher in the North of England, and is designed for students aged 11-12 years old but would also be suitable for younger or older students keen to learn Scratch in a fun way. There are a series of tutorials to follow, leading to a good grounding, not only in how to use Scratch, but a number of specific programming concepts as well.

Students will build their knowledge about biomes and the critical characteristics that define different biomes through several group activities. There are 3 projects which should help students research, apply, analyse and evaluate what they are learning. This is intended to be an online component to a face-to-face class in Middle School or Secondary School.
This course is designed to be used as part of a Basic Moodle training session - NOT for learning mountaineering! It is a sample "real" course which demonstrates some of Moodle's features in the context of planning a climbing expedition to Mont Blanc. You don't need to know anything about climbing to do the course (I don't!) but it aims to give new Moodlers a good insight into the variety of activities available and how they may be used.
