This course is designed to be used as part of a Basic Moodle training session - NOT for learning mountaineering! It is a sample "real" course which demonstrates some of Moodle's features in the context of planning a climbing expedition to Mont Blanc. You don't need to know anything about climbing to do the course (I don't!) but it aims to give new Moodlers a good insight into the variety of activities available and how they may be used.

This course is designed to be used as part of a basic training session for new users of Moodle. It puts into context a variety of Moodle features and gives prospective teachers using Moodle a student perspective. I would suggest adding some comments to the comments block, adding an item of news and starter forum posts prior to the training so that there is some “life” in the course when the users access it. After a while it may, be useful to grade some of the assignments to and show some of the logs and quiz results so as to demonstrate these functionalities.
